Once you've selected and paid for your first month, you complete an intake form for the doctor to review and approve your prescription. After approval, our pharmacies ship your medication within 2 business days. When you run out, you let your doctor know in your Vitara patient portal and they review your dosage, adjust if needed, and write a new prescription. If your prescription is not approved, you receive a full refund.

All doctors are vetted and licensed to prescribe GLP-1 medications in your state, our pharmacies are U.S.-based 503A compounding pharmacies, and our medical director is a practicing physician who has reviewed our doctor and pharmacy network. Vitara also maintains LegitScript certification, telemedicine's most recognized compliance authority, which independently verifies our pharmacies, doctor network and software providers for safety and privacy protection.

Yes. Both GLP-1 weight-loss medications are real prescription medications prescribed by a doctor and compounded by a U.S.-based pharmacy. We offer only high-quality semaglutide and tirzepatide for patients who meet the clinical qualifications — the same medications people are getting real results with.

Your medical practitioner ultimately decides what is right for you. A common protocol is semaglutide at 0.25 mg/week for the first 4 weeks then 0.5 mg/week for the next 8 weeks, and tirzepatide starting low and titrating up every 4 weeks as tolerated. If you're already taking a dose, our practice will usually prescribe at that same dose — or slightly lower or higher — depending on your intake answers and your clinician's medical judgement.

Medications prescribed through Vitara are dispensed by U.S.-based 503A compounding pharmacies. These pharmacies prepare medications individually in response to a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider and follow applicable federal and state compounding regulations as well as professional standards such as USP 795 and USP 797. Compounded medications are prepared for individual patients when commercially available alternatives are not suitable.

You'll receive small insulin-sized needles with your medication. Your doctor explains how and when to take it during your telemedicine visit. You start on a low weekly dose while your body adjusts and increase every 4 weeks until you reach your full dose. The medication is injected into the fatty area of your stomach once per week.

Prescriptions received before 2 pm central are shipped the same day, next-day via UPS or FedEx in a temperature-controlled package. Weekend orders (Friday–Sunday) ship Monday. You receive a tracking number for every shipment, and each shipment is insured against loss unless incorrect shipping information was provided.

Individual results depend on many factors, but on average patients using these medications report roughly 1.5% of body weight lost per week, and as much as 10% over 12 weeks. For a 200-pound person that's about 10–20 pounds.
